1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how GameItemShop ("GameItemShop", "we"), with registered address at United States, collects and uses personal data through gameitemshop.com, dashboard.gameitemshop.com and the shops hosted on shop.gameitemshop.com.
2. Two different roles: you as a platform user, and your buyers
It's important to distinguish two situations:
- If you register as a Merchant (shop owner), GameItemShop is the data controller for your own account data (name, email, password, billing data for your plan).
- If you buy from a shop hosted on GameItemShop (as a Merchant's end customer), GameItemShop acts as a data processor on behalf of the Merchant, who is the controller of that commercial relationship. Questions about that data should first be directed to the relevant Merchant; you'll find their contact email on the shop itself.
3. What data we collect
From Merchant accounts: name, email, password (stored as a hash, never in plain text), preferred language, subscribed plan, subscription payment history (date, amount, method used — we do not store card numbers).
From buyers in a shop: in-game account (or identifier configured by the Merchant), contact email for delivery and purchase notifications, purchase history. The payment itself (card number, PayPal account) is processed directly by the chosen payment provider (Stripe, PayPal or e-Payouts); we only receive confirmation that the payment was made and its amount.
Technical data: IP address (used, among other things, to prevent abuse via attempt rate limits — see below), date and time of relevant actions (login, purchase), and, if you accept analytics cookies, aggregated browsing data through Google Analytics/Tag Manager.
4. Why we use your data and on what legal basis
- Contract performance: creating and managing your account, processing payments, delivering purchases, sending necessary transactional emails (purchase confirmation, plan payment confirmation, email verification).
- Legitimate interest: preventing fraud and abuse (e.g., limiting login or account-creation attempts from the same IP address), keeping audit records of plan and billing changes, improving the Service.
- Consent: analytics and marketing cookies, which you can accept or reject from the cookie banner or "Cookie settings" in the footer. Rejecting them does not affect the site's basic functionality.
- Legal obligation: retaining billing records for the period required by applicable tax regulations.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We only share it with:
- Payment processors: Stripe, PayPal and e-Payouts, to the extent necessary to process each payment. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Hosting and database provider, where the data described above is stored.
- Email delivery provider, for transactional emails (verification, purchase and payment confirmations).
- Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager, only if you accepted analytics cookies.
- Public authorities, when there is a legal obligation to do so.
6. Data retention
We keep your account data while it remains active. If you cancel it, we retain billing records for the minimum period required by applicable tax/accounting regulations, and delete or anonymize the remaining personal data within a reasonable period, unless there is a legal obligation to retain it longer.
7. Your rights
If you are located in the European Union or a jurisdiction with equivalent protections, you have the right to: access your data, rectify it, request its deletion ("right to be forgotten"), object to processing, request restriction of processing, and data portability. You can also withdraw any consent you've given (e.g., to analytics cookies) at any time.
To exercise these rights over your Merchant account, write to us at support@gameitemshop.com. If your question is about a purchase made in a Merchant's shop, contact that shop's support email first; if you don't get a response, you can write to us as data processor.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country of residence.
8. Cookies
We use cookies necessary for the site to work (session, language preference) and, only with your consent, analytics and marketing cookies. You can change your choice at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer.
9. Security
Passwords are stored with cryptographic hashing, never in plain text. Payments are processed through certified providers (Stripe, PayPal, e-Payouts); we do not store card numbers on our servers. We apply access controls, per-IP attempt limits, and server-side validation on every sensitive operation.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor in your care provided us with personal data without your consent, contact us to have it removed.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Substantial changes will be notified by email or via a notice on the dashboard. The date of the last update appears at the bottom of this page.
